Ingredients

  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 small banana, sliced (optional)
  • 1 pint strawberries, sliced
  • 2 tbsp almonds, sliced
  • 3/4 cup Nutella, divided
  • powdered sugar (optional)

Equipment

  • Chef's Knife
  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let this mixture sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy. This step ensures that your dough will rise beautifully.
  2. Once the yeast mixture is ready, add salt, olive oil, and enough all-purpose flour to form a soft dough. Begin mixing with a spoon until combined.
  3. On a floured countertop, knead the dough gently for a few minutes until it’s smooth and elastic. Look for a nice, soft texture that springs back when you poke it. This is a sign that the gluten is developing well.
  4. Let the dough rest for about 5 minutes, covered with a kitchen towel to keep it warm. This resting time is crucial for letting the dough relax.
  5. After resting, divide the dough into two equal portions. Roll each portion out into an 11 to 12-inch circle on a floured surface. Aim for a nice uniform thickness throughout.
  6. Place your rolled-out dough onto a pizza stone or a cookie sheet. Make sure to poke holes all over the surface with a fork to prevent bubbling while baking.
  7. Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C). Bake the dough in the preheated oven for about 8 to 10 minutes or until it is lightly browned and crisp. You want it golden but not overly dark.
  8. While the pizza crusts are baking, warm the Nutella in a glass bowl in the microwave for about 20 seconds. This makes it easier to spread over the hot crusts.
  9. Once the crusts are out of the oven and have cooled slightly, spread the warm Nutella evenly over each pizza, reserving a little bit for drizzling on top later.
  10. Top each pizza with half of the sliced bananas, half of the sliced strawberries, and half of the sliced almonds. Feel free to arrange them artistically for that wow factor!
  11. Drizzle any remaining Nutella over the top, and if desired, sprinkle with powdered sugar for a sweet finish. Serve the Strawberry Nutella Pizza immediately to enjoy the warm, gooey goodness!

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. You can freeze the baked crust for up to 3 months, adding toppings when you're ready to serve.
