Equipment

  • Chef's Knife

Method

  1. In a bowl, mash avocados with a potato masher or a fork until coarsely mashed.
  2. Add the shallot, jalapeno, lime zest and juice, cilantro, and strawberries, and fold until incorporated.
  3. Season to taste with salt.
  4. Serve immediately, sprinkled with additional chopped strawberries for garnish, or cover with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface and refrigerate for up to 4 hours or until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Storage: To store any leftovers, place the guacamole in an airtight container, pressing plastic wrap directly onto the surface to minimize air exposure and browning.
  • Freezing: While not ideal, you can freeze guacamole. Be sure to leave it slightly chunky. When thawed, stir it well before serving.
  • Pairing: This guacamole pairs beautifully with grilled fish or chicken. Try serving it alongside tacos or as a topping for bruschetta.
  • Variations: Feel free to mix in diced mango or pineapple for a tropical twist. You can also try adding a splash of hot sauce for a spicy kick.
  • Serving Ideas: Serve Strawberry Guacamole as a dip, a topping for burgers, or as a spread on sandwiches. Its versatility is endless!
