Ingredients

  • 6 cups Chex cereal or 4 cups Chex and 2 cups Cinnamon Toast Crunch
  • 12 oz white chocolate chips
  • 3 tsp cinnamon divided
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Wooden Spoon

Method

  1. Pour the Chex cereal into a medium bowl.
  2. Melt the white chocolate chips in 25-second increments at 50% power in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring well in between. When most of the white chocolate is melted, just keep stirring to melt the rest so as not to overheat it. Stir in 1 ½ teaspoons of cinnamon into the melted white chocolate.
  3. Pour the mixture over the Chex cereal and stir until the cereal is evenly coated.
  4. Pour powdered sugar and the rest of the cinnamon into a gallon-sized plastic bag. Transfer the cereal mixture into the bag and toss until evenly coated.
  5. Transfer back to a bowl and dig in, allowing to cool for about 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Don’t overheat the chocolate: If you cook the chocolate too much, it will become thick and seize, making it unworkable.
  • Storage: This Snickerdoodle Puppy Chow can last about 1-2 weeks if stored in an airtight container at room temperature.
  • Make sure to stir: Ensure that the cereal is well-coated so that the powdered sugar sticks to it.
