Ingredients
  

  • 1 3 to 4-lb Chuck roast
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Salsa
  • 1 oz Onion soup mix
  • 1 0.7-oz Italian dressing mix
  • 1 oz Au Jus mix
  • ΒΌ cup Sour cream
  • 1 tsp Adobo sauce From chipotle peppers
  • 2 tsp Creamy horseradish sauce

Method
 

  1. Whisk together water, salsa, and seasoning packets. Place chuck roast in the slow cooker. Pour seasoning mixture over the roast. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or high for 4 to 5 hours.
  2. Mix together and spread on sliders or use as a dip for wings or chicken fingers.

Notes

  • Tip 1: Do NOT make the dressing; use only the contents of the packet in the recipe.
  • Tip 2: You can substitute brown gravy mix for the Au Jus gravy mix.
  • Tip 3: The most popular cut to use is a Chuck roast, but you can also use brisket or round roast.
  • Tip 4: Searing the meat before adding it to the slow cooker is not necessary, but can add extra flavor.
  • Tip 5: Feel free to add vegetables like potatoes and carrots to the slow cooker.
