Ingredients

  • 1 can 1 (12.4 oz) can refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
  • 4 4 red peanut M&Ms
  • 8 8 chocolate chips

Equipment

  • Chef Knives
  • Cutting Board
  • Cookie Sheet

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. This is crucial for ensuring that your rolls bake evenly and turn out perfectly golden brown.
  2. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. This will prevent sticking and make cleanup a breeze.
  3. Separate the rolls according to the instructions on the package. You'll want to have four rolls set aside to create the bodies of your reindeer.
  4. Take the remaining rolls and use a sharp knife to cut each one in half. This will form the antlers of your reindeer. Aim for a clean cut to maintain the shape.
  5. On the rounded sides of the halved rolls, cut two or three slits. This will help create the antler points. Make sure not to cut all the way through.
  6. Position the antlers on top of the whole cinnamon rolls, pinching the edges to secure them. This helps them stay attached during baking.
  7. Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed up. Keep an eye on them, as they may cook faster than the package suggests.
  8. Once golden, remove the rolls from the oven and spread the icing over the warm reindeer. The warmth will help the icing melt slightly, making it even more delicious!
  9. To finish, place a red peanut M&M in the center of each roll to serve as the nose. Then, add two chocolate chips directly above the M&M to create the eyes.

Notes

  • Tip 1: This recipe uses a can of 12.4-ounce Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls. These are the smaller rolls NOT the Grands.
  • Tip 2: One can of cinnamon rolls will make 4 reindeer.
  • Tip 3: Watch the rolls as they cook. I found that they cook a little faster than the cooking time listed.
  • Tip 4: Can I make Reindeer Cinnamon Rolls ahead of time? Yes! I like to lay the rolls out on the baking sheet and store them in the refrigerator overnight. Cover the baking pan with plastic wrap to keep the dough from drying out.
  • Tip 5: Store the rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 to 3 days.
