Mini Corn Dogs

Ingredients
  

  • 1 box Funnel Cake mix
  • 2 packages Lit'l Smokies
  • cup All-purpose flour
  • Canola oil

Equipment

  • Dutch oven
  • Mixing bowls

Method
 

  1. Pour enough canola oil into a skillet or Dutch oven to a depth of two inches. Heat oil to 350 degrees.
  2. Prepare funnel cake mix according to package directions.
  3. Remove little smokies from package. Roll little smokies in flour.
  4. Dip into prepared funnel cake batter. Shake off excess and place in oil.
  5. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes, until golden brown. Repeat until all little smokies are battered and fried.
  6. Serve with honey mustard and plain honey.

Notes

  • Can substitute: hot dogs or turkey hot dogs.
  • Don’t want to use: funnel cake mix? You can substitute a box of Jiffy Cornbread Mix. Prepare the cornbread according to the package directions with milk and eggs.
  • Feel free to add: some spices to the batter like paprika or chili powder.
  • Store leftovers: in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat in the air fryer or in the microwave.
