  1. Place prepared carrots in a medium saucepan, cover them with water, and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium and simmer until carrots are just tender, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain well.
  2. In the same saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the maple syrup, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Add the drained carrots back to the pan. Cook, stirring frequently, until the carrots are well-coated with the glaze and heated through, about 5 minutes.

Notes

  • Tip 1: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
  • Tip 2: You can freeze the glazed carrots. Just ensure they are cooled completely before placing them in a freezer-safe container.
  • Tip 3: Serve these carrots with roasted chicken or turkey for a classic combination that works beautifully together.
  • Tip 4: For added texture, sprinkle some toasted nuts, like walnuts or pecans, over the finished dish.
  • Tip 5: Toss in some fresh thyme or parsley just before serving for a fresh burst of flavor.
