Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken thighs deboned, skin-on
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1.5 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 3 dashes cayenne pepper
  • 1 big pinch salt
  • parsley chopped
  • lime wedges

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Oven
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Chef's Knife
  • Wooden Spoon

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (207°C) to ensure even cooking.
  2. Rub the minced garlic on the chicken thighs with your hands.
  3. In a bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, lime juice, cayenne pepper, and salt. Stir to mix well.
  4. Transfer the chicken and marinade to a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
  5. Cover the chicken with aluminum foil to prevent burning.
  6. Bake the chicken for 20 minutes or until fully cooked.
  7. If sauce pools at the bottom, spoon and brush it over the chicken.
  8. Broil the chicken for 1 minute to char the skin.
  9. Remove from heat, garnish with parsley. Squeeze lime wedges over the chicken before serving.

Notes

  • Marinade Time: Letting the chicken marinate in the sauce for about 30 minutes enhances the flavor.
  • Cooking Method: If using skinless chicken, skip broiling as it may not achieve the same crispy texture.
  • Cooking on a Stovetop: You can cook the chicken in a pan or cast-iron skillet over medium heat if short on time.
  • Basting: Basting the chicken with the sauce while baking ensures it remains moist.
