Start by transferring all of the ingredients except for the honey into a zip lock bag. Seal the bag tightly and shake everything around until the drumsticks are well coated with the seasonings and oil. This method allows the flavors to penetrate the meat.
If you prefer a different method, you can also use a large mixing bowl for this step. Just wrap the bowl tightly in plastic wrap after mixing to marinate the chicken. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes; however, for the best flavor, aim for several hours or even up to 24 hours.
When you’re ready to bake, preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. This high temperature will help achieve a crispy exterior.
Transfer the marinated drumsticks to a large rimmed baking sheet or roasting pan, arranging them in a single layer. If your baking sheet tends to stick, line it with parchment paper or aluminum foil to avoid any mess.
Bake for about 20 minutes. You want the chicken to be golden-brown and fully cooked. Keep an eye on it to ensure it doesn't overcook.
For a crispy skin, move the baking sheet to the oven's second shelf from the top, and broil for an additional 5 to 8 minutes. This step adds a nice crunch to the chicken skin.
Once done, remove the drumsticks from the oven and drizzle them generously with honey. The honey will melt slightly and create a beautiful glaze.
Serve the drumsticks on a platter, and feel free to accompany them with your favorite side dishes. Enjoy the delicious flavors!
