Ingredients

  • 2 lb chicken breasts (4-6 depending on size)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • dash red pepper flakes
  • 1 gallon freezer bag sized

Equipment

  • Slow Cooker

Method

  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients. You'll need the chicken breasts, honey, dijon mustard, paprika, onion powder, chicken broth, and red pepper flakes. Make sure everything is ready to go!
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine honey, dijon mustard, paprika, onion powder, and a dash of red pepper flakes. Mix well until you have a smooth marinade.
  3. Place the chicken breasts into a gallon-sized freezer bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring that each piece is well coated.
  4. Seal the bag and give it a gentle shake to distribute the marinade evenly. If time allows, let it sit for a bit to marinate; otherwise, you can freeze it right away.
  5. When you’re ready to cook, take the frozen bag out of the freezer and let it thaw in the refrigerator overnight.
  6. Once thawed, transfer the contents of the bag into your slow cooker. Add the chicken broth to help keep the chicken moist during cooking.
  7. Set your slow cooker to LOW and cook for 6 to 8 hours. The longer it cooks, the more tender and flavorful the chicken will become. Keep an eye on it to ensure it doesn’t dry out.
  8. When the cooking time is up, the chicken should be cooked through and tender. Use a fork to shred the meat if desired.
  9. Serve the Honey Dijon Chicken over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes for a comforting meal. Enjoy the flavorful combination you’ve created!
