Ingredients

  • 3 cups Flamin Hot Cheetos
  • ½ pound Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 2 large Eggs
  • ¼ cup Milk

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Foil

Method

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. This is crucial to ensure that the chicken gets perfectly crispy. While the oven heats, line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and spray it with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Next, it's time to prepare the Cheetos. Place the Flamin Hot Cheetos into a food processor and pulse them until they turn into fine crumbs. This should take about 10 seconds. Once done, transfer the crumbs into a shallow dish for easy dredging later.
  3. In another shallow dish, add one cup of all purpose flour. This will act as the first coating for your chicken. Make sure to spread it evenly.
  4. In a third shallow dish, crack the two eggs and add the quarter cup of milk. Beat the mixture well until it’s smooth and combined; this will serve as your egg wash.
  5. Now, it’s time to get messy! Start with a piece of chicken and dredge it into the flour, ensuring it's fully coated. Shake off any excess flour before dipping it into the egg wash.
  6. After the egg wash, immediately coat the chicken piece in the Cheetos crumbs, pressing lightly so they stick well. Place the coated chicken onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Repeat the dredging process with all pieces of chicken until they’re all well coated. Make sure they’re spaced out on the baking sheet to ensure even cooking.
  8. Pop the baking sheet into the preheated oven and let the chicken bake for 20 to 22 minutes. Keep an eye on them; they should turn a beautiful golden brown and be crispy.
  9. Check the largest piece of chicken to ensure it's cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  10. Serve your Flamin Hot Cheeto Chicken immediately for the best crunch experience. Enjoy it hot with your favorite dipping sauces!

Notes

  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.
  • Freezing: You can freeze the coated uncooked chicken for up to three months. Just dip it in the Cheetos and freeze before baking.
  • Pairing: Consider pairing this dish with a cooling dip like ranch or a refreshing salad to balance the heat.
  • Flavor Variations: Want to add more depth? Try adding spices like paprika or garlic powder to the flour for an extra kick.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve with a side of veggies for a balanced meal, or place it on a bed of rice for a filling dinner.
  • Cooking Method: For a crunchier texture, consider air frying the chicken instead of baking.
