Ingredients

  • 2 pieces chicken breasts cut into halves lengthwise horizontally
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt divided
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper divided
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns toasted
  • 12-15 pieces dill pickle chips

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Frying pan
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk

Method

  1. First, pat dry the chicken breasts with a kitchen towel and set them aside.
  2. Next, in a shallow bowl, combine flour, baking powder, paprika, garlic powder, ½ teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon ground pepper. Set this mixture aside for later.
  3. In another shallow bowl, combine the eggs and milk, and whisk them together using a fork. This will create your wet mixture for dipping.
  4. Dredge the chicken breasts in the flour mixture, ensuring both sides are coated. Then, dip them into the egg mixture, followed by another coating in the flour mixture. Make sure the chicken is evenly coated with flour for that extra crunch.
  5. Meanwhile, heat a pan with oil suitable for deep frying over medium-high heat. You want it hot enough for frying, about 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the chicken breasts carefully until they turn crispy and golden on both sides, approximately 5 to 7 minutes per side. Keep an eye on the color to prevent burning.
  7. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oil, allowing any excess oil to drain on a kitchen towel. Set the chicken aside to rest.
  8. To prepare the Chick-fil-A sauce, take a small bowl and combine mayonnaise, BBQ sauce, yellow mustard, honey, and lemon juice. Mix these ingredients until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  9. To assemble the sandwich, spread the prepared Chick-fil-A sauce over the toasted buns. Place the crispy chicken on the bun and top it with dill pickle chips.
  10. Finally, close the sandwich with the other half of the bun and serve it while still warm, accompanied by potato fries on the side for a complete meal.
