Method
- Heat a skillet or pan over medium heat.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Flip and drizzle the other side with balsamic vinegar.
- Layer cheese, then apple slices, then a bit more cheese to the side with the balsamic vinegar.
- Top with the remaining bread slices, so that the butter is facing out on both sides.
- Place on the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes or until the bread has turned golden and crispy. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes, making sure the cheese has melted.
Notes
- Storage: If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They can be enjoyed cold or reheated.
- Freezing: While it’s best fresh, you can freeze the assembled sandwich before cooking. Just thaw and cook when ready!
- Pairing: Serve your sandwich with a side of tomato soup for a classic combination, or try it with a salad for a lighter option.
- Experiment: Feel free to try different types of cheese, such as gouda or mozzarella, for a new twist.
- Serving Suggestion: Cutting the sandwich into triangles makes it fun for kids and easy to share!
