Method
- In a medium-sized skillet over medium-high heat, add 2 tablespoons of butter and allow to melt.
- Add 8 ounces of button mushrooms and sauté them evenly.
- Sprinkle in 1 tablespoon of finely chopped fresh thyme, 1 tablespoon of finely chopped parsley, and 1 tablespoon of finely chopped rosemary. Stir well.
- Add 3 cloves of minced garlic and season with salt and pepper.
- Sauté for 3-4 minutes or until the mushrooms are tender and golden brown.
- Garnish with additional chopped parsley if desired before serving.
Notes
- Storage: Store any leftover mushrooms in an airtight container in the fridge. They can last up to three days, but the flavor is freshest on the first day.
- Freezing: It's best to avoid freezing sautéed mushrooms, as the texture may become mushy upon thawing. Enjoy them fresh!
- Pairing: These mushrooms go wonderfully with a variety of dishes like steak, chicken, or a hearty grain bowl. They can also be tossed into pasta dishes for an extra flavor boost.
- Don’t Overcrowd: When cooking, make sure not to overcrowd the skillet. If necessary, sauté in batches to ensure even cooking.
- Try Variations: Feel free to adapt the recipe by adding different herbs or spices. A sprinkle of chili flakes can add a nice kick!
