Ingredients

  • 3 pieces Boneless skinless chicken breasts (cut into pieces)
  • 1 cup All purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 piece Egg
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons White vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons Molasses
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red chili powder

Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Skillet
  • Whisk
  • Saucepan
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Frying pan
  • Wooden Spoon

Method

  1. Heat about 1 1/2 inches of oil in a large skillet.
  2. In a large bowl mix 1 cup all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons salt, 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon paprika together.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the egg and milk. When the oil is hot enough, take the chicken pieces and first dip them in the egg/milk mixture, then in the flour mixture.
  4. Fry a few at a time on both sides until the chicken is cooked through and it’s golden brown. Fry in batches until done.
  5. While you’re frying the chicken, you can make the BBQ sauce, or you can make it well in advance. In a small saucepan, mix all the sauce ingredients together and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for another 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. To serve the chicken wings, place the chicken pieces in a bowl then pour the sauce over the wings, and toss well so that each chicken piece is fully coated in the sauce.
