Ingredients

  • 2 filets fresh salmon
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 cup white rice
  • 2 cups broccoli steamed
  • fresh parsley chopped
  • lemon wedges

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Method

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. This step is crucial for achieving that perfect crispy texture. When the air fryer is hot, it allows the salmon to sear and lock in moisture, giving it that delightful flakiness.
  2. Use a paper towel to pat the salmon filets until they’re dry. This step ensures that the marinade sticks well, and a dry surface helps create a better crust when cooking.
  3. In a separate small bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Whisk everything together until you have a uniform mixture. This marinade is what will make your salmon burst with flavor!
  4. Pour the marinade over the salmon, making sure it’s evenly coated. It’s okay if you have some leftover; you can use it during cooking. For even better flavor, let the salmon sit in the marinade for about 10 to 20 minutes in the fridge.
  5. After marinating, add an air fryer liner to the preheated basket. This keeps the salmon from sticking and makes cleanup a breeze.
  6. Add the marinated salmon to the basket. Make sure to space them out so that the hot air circulates properly, ensuring even cooking.
  7. Cook the salmon for 10 to 12 minutes. Halfway through cooking, baste the fish with any extra marinade you have. This will enhance the flavor and keep it moist. You can tell it’s done when a piece flakes off easily with a fork.
  8. Once cooked, carefully remove the salmon from the air fryer. Serve it alongside white rice and steamed broccoli. Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon wedges for a pop of color and freshness!
  9. Enjoy your delicious Air Fryer Salmon meal and watch how quickly it becomes a family favorite!

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftover salmon filets in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 to 4 days. They can be easily reheated in the microwave or back in the air fryer for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Freezing: If you have leftovers, you can freeze the salmon. Wrap it tightly in foil or freezer wrap to prevent freezer burn, and consume within two months.
  • Pairing: Experiment with different sides such as quinoa, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad. The possibilities are endless!
  • Marinade Variations: Try adding different herbs like dill or cilantro to your marinade for a unique twist. A splash of sriracha can also add a spicy kick.
  • Cooking Time: Keep an eye on the cooking time, especially if you’re using thicker salmon fillets. You may need to adjust cooking time accordingly.
  • Serve with Sauce: Consider serving your salmon with a side of yogurt sauce or a homemade tartar sauce for an extra layer of flavor.
