Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken wings cut into separate drumettes and flats
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp buffalo sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tbsp teriyaki sauce substitute soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp water
  • ½ tsp sesame seeds optional, to garnish
  • 1 tbsp bbq sauce
  • 1 cup blue cheese dressing substitute ranch
  • 1 carrot carrot sliced into sticks
  • 1 celery celery sliced into sticks

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Skillet
  • Whisk
  • Chef's Knife
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Air Fryer

Method

  1. Prep the air fryer for wings. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Season the chicken wings. Dry the chicken wings with a paper towel. Sprinkle with garlic powder and salt.
  3. Air fry the chicken wings. Spray the basket with cooking spray (optional). Add wings to the basket, skin side up, ideally not overlapping.
  4. Cook the wings at 375°F for 15 minutes. Flip the wings, then bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  5. Increase the temperature to 400°F. Flip the wings again and air fry for an additional 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Check that the thickest part of the wings has reached an internal temperature of 165°F.
  7. Make the wing sauce of your choice. In a bowl, whisk together the buffalo sauce, teriyaki sauce, or honey BBQ sauce.
  8. Coat the wings with the sauce. Add wings to the bowl of sauce and toss to combine.
  9. Serve with a drizzle of extra sauce and a side of blue cheese dressing, carrots, celery, and a sprinkle of cilantro.
