Ingredients

  • 12 pieces Glazed donut holes
  • 1 teaspoon Coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate chips or Nutella, see note 1
  • 6 pieces Pretzel sticks broken in half
  • Serving suggestions see note 2

Equipment

  • Sheet pan (15" x 10")

Method

  1. Pour any prepared toppings (see note 2) into small individual bowls. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside. Halve pretzel sticks by breaking in the middle.
  2. Add coconut oil and chocolate chips to a small bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each until melted and smooth. Or, microwave Nutella for 20–40 seconds, stirring frequently.
  3. Dip the top third of each donut hole in melted chocolate or Nutella, shake off excess, and dip into prepared toppings. Insert half a pretzel stick into the center of the chocolate-dipped side of the donut hole.
  4. Place the baking sheet in the fridge for 10–15 minutes to let the chocolate harden, then set out at room temperature and enjoy within a couple of hours.

Notes

  • Tip 1: I use milk chocolate chips; semi-sweet and dark chocolate also work—whatever you prefer!
  • Tip 2: For more topping ideas, try chocolate jimmies sprinkles, assorted leaf/fall-themed sprinkles, crushed pretzels, crushed nuts, toffee bits, or miniature chocolate chips.
  • Tip 3: Serve right away. These taste best the day they’re made, so enjoy as soon as the chocolate has set.
