Ingredients

  • 1 tube chilled sugar cookie dough about 16.5 ounces
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries washed and dried
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1 medium banana sliced

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Chef's Knife
  • Baking Sheet
  • Frying pan

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a 12-inch pan with parchment paper and press the chilled dough evenly into the pan. Bake for 13-15 minutes until the edges are lightly golden. Remove the pan from the oven and let the crust cool completely on a wire rack.
  2. In a bowl, beat together the cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled crust.
  3. Arrange the blueberries in one corner to represent the stars, and form stripes with the sliced strawberries and bananas to mimic the American flag.

Notes

  • Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
  • Freezing: You can freeze the unbaked cookie crust for up to one month.
  • Pairing: Serve the 4th of July Fruit Pizza with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  • Fruit Variations: Use seasonal fruits like mangoes or peaches.
  • Frosting Alternatives: Try a yogurt-based frosting for a lighter version.
